Suggested Best Practices for
ASAC-Affiliated Horse Shows

-
All ASAC high point classes should be conducted by USEF class specifications. However, no show needs to be USEF licensed.
-
Farrier on show grounds.
-
Veterinarian on grounds or on call. Contact information prominently posted.
-
Adequate stabling facilities.
-
Provide adequate water supply for horses.
-
A separate warm-up area.
-
A ring with suitable lighting for night shows.
-
Properly maintained restroom facilities.
-
Two shows on same date should be at least 50 miles apart.
-
At least six (6) ribbons awarded per class.
-
All shows in NC/SC offering an Academy division should be consistent with the ASAC Academy Rule Book.
-
Include as broad a selection of Saddlebred, Hackney, Roadster, and Academy classes that the schedule and/or local support will permit.
-
If a show is comprised predominantly of academy classes, it should have a multi-day schedule and be held at a horse show facility offering the above amenities in order to affiliate with ASAC for High Points.
