The annual ASAC Convention is set for the weekend of January 29-30, 2010, at The Embassy Suites in Concord, North Carolina, Exit 49 off I-85. The all suite hotel provides us with free parking and a complimentary breakfast buffet for each registered guest. Adjoining The Embassy Suites is the Concord Convention Hall where the ASAC activities will be held. The hotel also offers a full service Spa, Indoor Pool and Jacuzzi, along with an adjoining Golf Course.
Friday evening’s Reception and Live and Silent Auctions run 7:00 - 11:00 p.m. The Silent Auction will continue through Saturday with bids taken beginning at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 6:30 p.m.
The ASAC Youth will have their own fun activities on Friday night. At 7:00 p.m. the ASAC Youth “Luau” begins. Two separate rooms will feature games and food on one side, with a DJ and dancing on the other. There will also be an area set aside for Scrapbooking. Meetings start early on Saturday morning with separate meetings for the Youth and General Membership. The Youth will be provided lunch following their meeting. The Riding Instructors Meeting is scheduled for Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. For 2010 Saturday afternoon is “OPEN” for the adults.
For the ASAC Youth tickets are available for a fun afternoon at the NASCAR Speed Park at the nearby Concord Mills Mall. A shuttle bus will provide us roundtrip transportation between the hotel and mall. The last bus will return to the hotel at 4:00 p.m. T-Shirts are available for purchase and can be worn during the convention and at the Speed Park. Please indicate either Adult or Youth T-Shirt, along with your size, on the registration form.
Saturday evening at 6:00-6:45 p.m. there will be an ASAC Youth Reception and recognition of ASHA Academy Medal Winners.
Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. is kick-off time for the Awards Dinner and Dance.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS must be made by the JANUARY 11, 2010, cut-off date since a limited number of rooms are available under the ASAC block. The rate is still $125.00 per night for 1-4 persons per suite. The ASAC (American Saddlebred Association of the Carolinas) group code to be used to make your reservation is “ASA”. Reservations can be made by calling The Embassy Suites or going on line at www.embassysuitesconcord.com. Saturday night’s Dinner and Dance reservations can be made by completing and mailing the proper form. The Awards Dinner and Dance charge remains $50.00 for Adults, and $25.00 for Children age 12 and Under.
